The frosted glass body shaped as a ships decanter with broad spreading base, the elongated neck with an open-work silver trailing seaweed design, plain collar and the pull-off domed stopper with a leafy banded design, the two glasses with similar leafy and seaweed design on spreading polished circular bases, the glass liners, etched initials "JB" and "MB", height of decanter 28.5cm, height of glasses 14.3cm. (3)

  • Jocelyn Burton was born in Wales in 1946. Schooled at St Clare's, Seaton, Devon then at Lady Margaret House, Cambridge. Trained as a silversmith under Jack Stapley at Sir John Cass College, London.
    In 1970 she set up her studio in London at 50c Red Lion Street.
    Jocelyn Burton has works in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and at 10 Downing Street.
