A Continental yellow metal and gem set chalice and paten
Maker's mark 'SC' below three circles set out in a triangle formation surmounted by a crown, 750 standard mark Baluster form, translucent green enamelled band, embossed with foliate scrolls on a matt ground, the front applied with a vacant shield reserve with white gem border, surmounted by a gem encrusted crown on a transparent red enamelled ground, the back with husk cartouche and vacant reserve, with fluted knopped stem, raised on a circular foot embossed with flowering vine and leaf motif and applied mounted gems, the paten of circular form, translucent green enamelled border, interrupted by four applied gold mounted green cabochons flanked by engraved leaf motifs, height of chalice 17.3cm, diameter of paten 9.7cm.
