A Victorian silver large galleried tray,
by James Deakin & Son, Sheffield 1898,
rectangular form with cut corners, the galleried sides with integral cut-out handles and undulating rim, pierced with urn roundels and flower head roundels among vertical lattice bands, centred with engraved bands of husks, foliate festoons and drapes, all around a central reserve with presentation inscription 'Henry Brunel White FOUR YEARS MAYOR OF CARMARTHEN 1894 - 1898 PRESENTED TO Mr and Mrs Brunel White, BY THE INHABITANTS OF CAMARTHEN IN APPRECIATION OF MANY SERVICES TO THE TOWN 8TH NOVR 1898", on six leaf scroll bracket feet, length 62.5cm, weight 235.5oz.
