  • Elizabeth was the younger daughter of Marmaduke Carver and Anne Griffith. She was born on 16 June 1745 in Whiston, Yorkshire. Robert was born in Bakewell, Derbyshire, the fifth of the ten children born to Thomas Barker and his wife, Sarah. The couple married on 16 October 1781 and had one child, a daughter, Henrietta Elizabeth Barker (1782-1863). Both sitters are buried in All Saints Churchyard, Youlgreave.
