  • D.C.M. London Gazette 6.9.1915.

For conspicuous gallantry and resource on the night of the 18th-19th June 1915, on the Gallipoli peninsula. During the Turkish attack he exhibited great courage and initiative in organising and leading bomb-throwing parties, which successfully re-established our line and drove the enemy back into his sap. Sergeant Pullan was wounded early in the night, but with great courage and resolution he refused to retire, and continued to command his Platoon until severely wounded in the head.

Note slight different spelling of surname on DCM.

He was discharged on the 9th June 1916.
