Distinguished Flying Cross, G.V.R.; British War and Victory Medal with M.I.D. Oakleaf (Capt.J.M.Batting. R.A.F.); War Medal (260321.J.M.S.Batting.); Australia Service Medal (260321.J.M.S.Batting.). With a mounted group of corresponding miniatures. Extremely fine. (10)

    J.M.Batting was born on 24.7.1888, he was commissioned on 6.5.1916, he served in Egypt from Sept 1916 to Feb 1917, Arabia Feb 1917 to August 1917 (King of Hedjaj's Forces), Palestine Aug 1917 to Dec 1917. In WW2 he served with the RAAF doing General Duties 4.12.1939 to 31.5.1940, then Administrative and Special Duties 1.6.1940 to 25.1.1945.

    Sold with a quantity of original documentation including: RFC Garduation Certificate dated 4.8.1916. Officer's certificate of service. Letter confirming award of WW2 medals by the Department of Air dated 13.11.1953, and other misc paperwork. Also with minor badges and insignia etc.
