The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E., Officer's breast badge, Civil Division, type 2; 1939-1945 Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal; War Medal; Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R., Fid Def, with Malaya suspension (6396 Sgt. John Lyall Greig, F.M.S.V.F.); Coronation 1953. Mounted as worn, with corresponding miniatures. Very fine. (Lot)

    Sold with Statutes for the OBE, and correspondence from the Central Chancery, degree certificates, business cards, and a colour photograph of him meeting Haile Selassie.

    John Lyall Greig was born in 1902, he was imprisoned by the Japanese during WW2. After the war he served with the F.A.O. in Addis Ababa and Tehran. He was Director of Agriculture in North Borneo until he retired, he died in 1999.
