The inside of the lid has a contemporary label attached to it and reads as follows: "1852 Proof impressions from Dies forming part of Machinery ordered by the King of Cambodia fr W.P.Hammond Co London intended to form the Mint of that Kingdom. Being the first Coinage ever executed for any Country in the China Seas".
