An unusual agate 'lotus cluster' brush washer
19th century or possibly earlier
Carved from an unusually richly figured large pebble, deeply hollowed as a brush washer on the inside of a large single leaf with the edges curling over, issuing from two clusters of bud and lotus-flower stems, a third stem formed as a bullrush on the underside, the stone mottled grey and white toned with a purplish-grey central inclusion, fitted box.
16.5cm (6½in) wide. (2).
