Footnotes

  • A good example of a modern, multi-function commercial ferry, the Mk2 4 Runner replaced the Mk1 (based on the Sea Centurian class) with additional capacity and flexibility on a slightly lighter and more efficient hull configuration. At 12,300dwt, the four engined vessels can cruise at over 20knots. Three examples were ordered from the Chinese Dalian Shipyard in 1999, with the first of the class, named Stena Forerunner entering service in 2002. She is currently sailing under the Swedish Flag in the Baltic trade.
