A waterline model of the Passenger ferry PS Glen Usk 1914
Built by J Garven Wood in 1991. Composite hull, painted black to the waterline with decorated paddle boxes, white superstructure and cream decks with inscribed plank lines. Details include open bridge with wheel and binnacle, passenger benches and ship's boats on davits. Set on a painted, moulded sea in an acrylic case. 37x10x11ins. (94x25x28cm)

Footnotes

  • Built by the Ailsa Shipbuilding company, Troon, for P&A Campbell Limited. Employed as minesweeper of Northern Ireland during WW1, she returned to the Company's Cardiff to Minehead and Weston service and remained there until coal prices forced her retirement in 1960 and she was broken up in 1963.
