Footnotes

  • Built by Denny Brothers, Dunbarton, for the Caledonian Steam Packet Co. and used in their Clyde service. During WW2 she was taken into the Navy as a Minesweeper and renamed HMS Goatfell. Returning to service after the war, she was used as an excursion steamer until sold for scrap in 1969. However, she was saved by a businessman and stationed on the Victoria Embankment, London as a floating pub named Old Caledonia. Severely damaged by fire in 1980, she was finally scrapped at Sittingbourne.
