  • Following the launching of the Titanic on May 31st, several celebratory events took place; Lord Pirrie Chairman of Harland and Wolfe entertained Bruce Ismay and other VIP guests to a dinner at the shipyard, and JW Kempter hosted a luncheon for Yard Officlas and guests at the Grand Central Hotel, Belfast. The press also sat down to their own seperate luncheon at the Hotel.
