A collection of Nelson memorabilia,
comprising: a pair of gold mourning rings, one an example of the official John Salter ring, much altered and damaged, and another unofficial ring comprising a simple gold band with an added gold and enamel strip inscribed Nelson. Together with two paper packets purporting to contain Nelson's hair. The first; containing two small lengths, inscribed on the outside in ink The Hair of Horatio Lord Nelson given me by Horatia 22 May 1818 The second; a plaited length of hair within a postal packet addressed to Ship Bolton, Burnham, Norfolk and postmarked Wymondham Oct. 18, 1841. Inscribed on the outside in ink The great Lord Nelson hair cut off when he left of tying his hair. With a sheet of printed paper; Parliamentary Retrospect or the Opinions of his Majesty's Ministers, bearing a signature Nelson & Bronte. In addition, three medals; A bronze Nile Medal, a base metal Death of Nelson medal and a Nelson's Column commemorative medal 1843. (8)
