  • PROVENANCE:
    The White Star/Cunard warehouse in Southampton. Following the merger in 1934, examples of this obsolete pattern remained in store and were latterly disposed of to Cunard employees.

    Similar to the type in service in 1912, passengers at the time were able to hire one of these rugs for use on deck at a cost of 4 shillings (20p) or $1 for the voyage.
