An early 19th century bronze figure of Marie Leczinska as Juno
depicted standing holding a sceptre and resting on a shield with Fleurs de Lys, the peacock by her side and a crown at her feet, a putto reaching across her, on a square base with canted angles, raised on a Rouge Griotte marble plinth, the bronze 31cm high

  • The life-size marble version of the present group was commissioned in 1725 and is now in the Louvre Museum (MR 1813). Period bronze reductions of Coustou's marble are exceedingly rare although F. Souchal mentions the existence of terracotta and bronze examples in the art trade.
