A late Victorian ebonised and gilt metal mounted quarter chiming bracket clock
the case surmounted by a bell top mounted with an applique depicting a basket of flowers amongst scrolling acanthus leaves and a flaming urn finial, with four urn finials to the corners (one detached but present), with female caryatids to the canted front angles and shell spandrels, the sides with pierced sound frets decorated with a putto mask within a sunburst, the arched bevelled glass door enclosing the silvered dial with Roman numerals and Arabic minute markers, with gilt matted centre, below three subsidiary dials for Chime / Silent, Slow / Fast and Chime on 8 bells / Westminster, the triple train movement chiming the quarters on eight bells and striking the hours on a gong, 76cm high
