the break-arch case surmounted by four flaming urn finials, with canted corners mounted with female caryatids, the hinged door with putti mask spandrels, on four scrolling feet, the sides with ornate pierced frets with male terms flanked by scrolling foliage, the arched silvered 7.5 inch dial with Roman numerals and inscribed C.E. SIBLEY, HIGH STREET, PORTSMOUTH, with two subsidiary dials above for Slow / Fast and Chime / Silent, the triple train movement striking the quarters on eight bells and the hours on a gong, 65cm high
