These reliefs are after the late fifteenth century originals in the Certosa at Pavia, school of G. A. Amadeo, attributed to Gian Cristoforo Romano. Provenance: The Metropolitan Museum purchased these plaster between 1886-1895. They were subsequently sold at Sotheby's, New York, 28 February 2006, part of lot 148.
