The white marble case with gilt decoration, scroll supports to the drum case with four inch enamel dial, Roman numerals and moon hands to the single barrelled front winding movement, the movement signed Btf SCDG DP Paris and numbered 1186, with Farcot swinging cherub pendulum. 20cm wide x 14cm high x 9cm deep

  • Farcot was a French maker who patented a special form of anchor escapement in 1862 so that the pendulum swung backwards and forwards rather than side to side.
