A George Jones Majolica Cheese stand and cover
Circa 1870
The straight-sided cover moulded with a series of acanthus leaves and surmounted by a recumbent bull forming the handle, standing on a circular stand with recessed well and ropework and acanthus leaf rim border decoration, painted in typical pale blue, green and yellow glazes, overall 27cm high, (handle damaged, stand restored), impressed marks, together with a George Jones game pie dish, with liner, of similar style and form, the cover adorned with a pheasant, 16cm high, 23cm long, unmarked, (restored).
