with eighteenth Century French gold hinge, with charge and discharge mark, date letter, 1769, maker possibly for Pierre-Francois Drais,
the cover with a matched gold thumb piece, the cover inset with a painted portrait of a female, the box with painted cherubs among clouds and floral garlands, with a tortoiseshell lined interior, the cover inset with an oval mirror, length 6.7cm, a nineteenth Century Continental painted circular box, gilt metal mounted, the cover with applied enamel panel of a courting couple, together with a silver-gilt and enamelled box, possibly South Russian, the cover and sides of the base enamelled in blues, reds, green and white scrolls and beads.
