  • Jonathan David Edwards (B.1966) CBE.
    Olympic, Commonwealth, European and World Triple Jump Champion, holder of the World Record since 1995. Edwards won the Gold Medal at the Sydney Olympiad and carried this flag draped around his shoulders after his victory. He was awarded the CBE shortly after his success. He retired from competition in 2003, the UK's most successful medal winning athlete and a member of LOCOG, the organising committee for the London 2012 Games.
