1973 U.E.F.A. Cup winners medal awarded to Phil Boersma
A circular medal, to the obverse with figure of footballer and 'UEFA', the reverse with 'COUPE UEFA 1973', hallmarked, 18k gold, complete with original presentation case.

  • The 1973 U.E.F.A. Cup final was played over two-legs between Liverpool and Borussia Mönchengladbach on the 10th of May at Anfield and 23rd of May at the Bökelbergstadion, Mönchengladbach. Liverpool and Mönchengladbach were appearing in their first final. At Anfield, Liverpool took the lead when Kevin Keegan scored in the 21st minute. Another goal by Keegan in the first half, and a further goal by Larry Lloyd meant Liverpool won the first leg 3–0. In the second leg at the Bökelbergstadion Borussia took the lead in the 29th minute through Jupp Heynckes and he scored again 11 minutes later. Borussia were unable to find the third goal and the second leg ended 2–0 - Liverpool winning 3–2 on aggregate to win their first European trophy.
