2 early lawn tennis rackets
Wood rackets, one with oval head, name 'Tournament' engraved to the convex wedge (believed produced by Stanley Morrison and Co), weight 13 ounce. The other with flat-top head, engraved to the concave wedge 'Ideal' and 'Jaques & Son', weight 12 and a half ounce, each with regular handle, the strings of each racket incomplete.

Footnotes

  • Stanley Morrison and Co. of London offered a racket named 'Tournament' in 1887. Jaques and Son were founded in 1795 and were an early manufacturer of sporting goods and games, entering the tennis racket making field in the 1880's.
