A Dresden work cap and pair of baby's mittens, early/mid 18th century
The linen cap covered in floral designs, with corded quilted outlines and a variety of Dresden work fillings, the cap lined with courser linen and initialled 'M.S.'; the mittens of fine cream gauze, open at the fingers and with a frill at the wrist, the seam worked in Hollie Point and lines of pink silk chain stitch down the backs; together with a pair of cream silk baby's socks, initialled 'I3M' and pair of cream silk baby's mittens, both late 19th/early 20th century.
