Probably Whitechapel, London

Footnotes

  • Although the five-petalled flowerhead which decorates the band to the body of this mortar is apparently unrecorded, this mortar is tentatively attributed to Whitechapel on the basis of the similarity of its other decorative motifs, and the mortar's design.
