A Spode Copeland part dessert service painted by C.F.Hurton
Late 19th Century
Comprising two twin-handled oval dishes, measuring 31cm long 20cm wide, two smaller, twin-handled oval dishes, 25.5cm by 16.5cm, and nine circular plates, 20.5cm diam, all of fluted, lobed form, with gilt rims, the oval dishes with stylised, gilt-highlighted branches forming the handles and feet, each piece with an individual floral bouquet, painted by C.F.Hurton, the bouquets of predominantly pink, purple, and blue colours, including roses, buddleias, and tulips, the dishes signed C.F.Hurton, and the plates initialled C.F.H; all pieces with green Copeland stamp to underside (damage to three of dishes).
