A circular medal, the obverse with 'SHEFFIELD UNITED CRICKET & FOOTBALL CLUB' with central shield design, name M.I.Dodworth engraved to the rim and the reverse with 'LEAGUE WINNERS 1897 1898', hallmarked, Vaughton and Sons, 15ct gold, ring suspension. Approx. 28mm diam.

  • The 1897/98 season was the tenth season of the league and Sheffield Uniteds first and currently only title win, finishing 5 points clear of nearest challengers Sunderland.

    Maurice Dodsworth served as a committee member and director at Bramall Lane for 30 years until his death in 1908.
