1905 Hungarian football Champions Ferenc-Varosi medal
A rectangular medal to the obverse with warrior, sculptors name Beranl and date 1905, the reverse with 'FERENC-VAROSI TORNA-CLVB 1899', complete with original box. Approx. 59 x 38mm
"Ferencvárosi TC a sports club in the ninth district of Budapest Hungary was formed in 1899. The club included many divisions such as men's ice hockey, curling, women's soccer, wrestling and cycling. Out of all of the different divisions the mens soccer team is the best known and followed through out the country. The Hungarian Football Federation was founded in January of 1901. The first championship game consisted of five teams all from Budapest competing for the title. Team Budapesti TC was the winner of this first event and they also captured the title the following year. In 1903 the Ferencvárosi Torna Club men's football team won their first league championship. Their second championship win came two years later in 1905.
