The Story of the Golf Ball (2003) Page 55: 'In 1906 Good Year released their Pneumatic ball. Good Year dispensed with gutta in favour of a thin layer of India- Rubber covering the silk winding. Giepel and Lange in Britain made a version under licence. They professed that their ball was cut resistant because India-Rubber was tougher than gutta.'
