Mainly stamped 'Central Press' or embossed 'Allied Newspapers Manchester ', mostly measuring 8 x 10 inches with pencil annotations verso to include Edward Prince of Wales 'Watching Hagen putting'; 'Walter Hagen USA Captain at 14th hole'; Edward Prince of Wales 'Hold up through crowds'; Edward Prince of Wales 'Leaving the Clubhouse' (small tear to bottom left corner); Edward Prince of Wales 'Going onto links'; Edward Prince of Wales 'Setting out onto links'; 'An idea of the 20,000 crowd we had to manage. The P.W. is just leaving'; Edward Prince of Wales 'On the links'; 'J.H. Taylor speaking'; 'Putting on Gumbleys-17th hole'; Edward Prince of Wales 'Going on to links'; 'Hagen putting on Gumbleys - 17th hole'; Edward Prince of Wales 'Stepping out towards 7th hole'; 'W.H. Provenance: By direct family descent from A.W. (Alfred) Knights who was a member of the 1933 Ryder Cup Joint Committee. He agreed at the last minute to escort Edward Prince of Wales around the Southport & Ainsdale after a fellow Committee member had been forced to drop out.
