A mid-19th Century Rococo style water cistern or fountain and basin
French circa 1830-50
The substantial cistern cast and chased with asymmetrical scroll rockwork and pierced decoration, with applied berries, the zoomorphic tap surmounted by a cherub, height 66cm, the basin cast from sheet pewter with conforming decoration, diameter 52cm, possibly struck 'IB' underneath the base, probably the mark of Jabaeuf, Paris.
