A 17th century joined oak tester bed
Dated 1615, possibly Salisbury
Having a twelve panelled tester within S or chain-carved rails, with conforming carved frieze, the headboard with a pair of flower-filled arch craved panels, spaced by caryatids, the central term dated 1615 to base, headed by a strapwork carved top-rail, with three plain panels below, boss embellished side rails, the foot of the bedstock standing separately from the two baluster-turned end-posts, the footboard lunette and S-scroll carved centred by the initials WW, 146cm wide x 209cm deep x 195.5cm high, (57" wide x 82" deep x 76.5" high)
