Footnotes

  • Cooke & Kelvey, by appointment to Her Majesty's Government in India, were established in Calcutta in the year that followed the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny. Their silverware followed English fashions and created the myriad of table pieces without which the Colonial dinner or tea tables were incomplete, they became India's answer to London's Tiffany's and Asprey's.
