A 19th Century copper and steel rotating pot hook or dangle-spit
With pierced terminal for hanging above a pair of opposing curved arms, or 'flyers', with ball terminals, the iron shaft issuing two hooks, 38.5cm high, together with a 19th Century copper adjustable pot hook, of 'hook-and-eye' type, and a brass adjustable pot hook, with decorative shaped plates, (3)

  • A similar adjustable dangle-spit or pot hook is illustrated in Fig. 100 of Seymour Lindsey, Iron and Brass Implements. The author explains that the curved arms, or weighted 'flyers', were to encourage the hook to rotate.
