  • Probably a rubbing of the tomb of Guy Wade from the parish church of Standon in Hertfordshire. Guy Wade - and his will - are mentioned in The Diary of Henry Machyn 1550 - 1563, for 15th September 1557 where he is named as 'squire and secondary of the Counter in Wood Street'. The Wood Street Counter or 'Compter' was one of London's prisons.
