A massive engraved ewer
Circa 1870, probably Stourbridge or possibly Scottish
The body of flattened globular form raised on an oval foot, engraved to one side with the heraldic motif of a wild bores head within a garter engraved with 'Hatelie', within a round border profusely engraved with renaissance revival style scrolls, engraved to the reverse with monogrammed initials, possibly CH, 47cm high
Sold for £625 inc. premium

    'Hatelie' and the boar's head erased crest may relate to the families of Campbell, Hamilton, Chisholme, Cruikshanks, Halliday or Hunter.
