A Sèvres porcelain tea set
Circa 1776
Each piece hand painted with a landscape scene, variously featuring buildings, figures, boats and animals, each within a circular gilt band, on a blue ground further embellished with gilt floral designs and scroll and diaper borders, one cup and saucer bear painted animal roundels and have a slightly different style of gilt decoration on the blue ground, comprising a tea pot, a sugar basin and cover, a slop bowl, a jug, six cups and six saucers, the teapot 14cm high, the jug 14.5cm high, the cups 7cm high, the saucers 13.5cm diameter, painted interlaced Ls, many pieces painted Sèvres and many with date letter Y
