A finely carved and fitted stained wood cabinet
Circa 1900
The rectangular top surface with lotus carved gallery and superstructure raised on pillars coiled with dragons before foliate and bird carved and pierced panels, the shelf above with rear panelled pediment carved and pierced in shaped panels with figures in landscape flanked by birds, the two doors carved and pierced with figural and bird designs on scrolling foliage opening to reveal an arrangement of eight variously sized drawers, the drawer fronts all carved with figures at various pursuits such as ploughing, bringing in crops etc, the cabinet sides further carved with foliate designs and the whole with decorative inlays of bone, all raised on a dragon carved base and squat feet,
