A 1796 pattern Georgian Infantry Officer's spadroon
Circa 1800
With straight fullered blade etched and gilt against a blued ground on each side with 'GR' crowned and a trophy of arms, regulation gilt-brass hilt with double shell-guard, the inner one folding up against a spring, faceted pommel cast and chased with foliage, and grip bound with twisted wire,81cm blade.
