- The crest below the motto 'recte faciendo securus' is for Inglis.
The crest was originally granted in 1867 to John Inglis of Glencorse, Lord Justice General of Scotland and the little star in his lion's paw was silver.
The same motto and crest with a red star was granted to Anthony Inglis of Broomhill, Lanarkshire in 1873.
