Distilled 14th January 1949, bottled 12th May 1999. Distilled and bottled by The Macallan Distillers Ltd.
Chosen from three casks filled the same day, each of almost identical strength (between 50.2% and 50.8% volume). In fitted wooden presentation case within the original carton. Level: filled to 700 ml. Caithness Glass decanter accompanied by copper mounted stopper (cast from copper reclaimed from No. 9 still at The Macallan Distillery). Single malt, 43% volume

  • Tasting note:
    In the decanter and in the glass (at a reduced nosing strength of 20% abv)

    ON THE NOSE: Richly phenolic, cloves, coriander, orange and lemons. Some apples, hints of cereals and complimentary wood.

    ON THE PALATE: Rich, smokey, peaty phenolics. Wood influence with dried fruits and citrus. Some resinous spice; cloves and coriander.

    THE FINISH: Rich citrus and wood, enveloped with peat.
