82.5cm blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, numbered 36524 for 1899, etched with foliate scrolls, crowned Royal Arms, VR cypher, slung bugle horn and owner's name M. B. White, 1st Battn. Rifle Brigade, patent solid regulation steel gothic hilt incorporating a slung bugle horn within a laurel wreath, wire bound chequered horn grip, in its steel scabbard with two suspension rings, complete with leather sword knot of leather cord and tassel.

  • Maurice Bazely White. 2nd Lieutenant Rifle Brigade November 1899, Lieutenant 1900. He saw service in South Africa and was twice wounded (once severely). Placed on half pay July 1902, he was re-employed in 1914 and although confined to a wheel chair he saw service throughout the war in the 5th Bn. The Rifle Brigade, at the Rifle Depot. He attained the rank of Captain in March 1916, and died in 1925, aged 45. Sold with further research.
