83.5cm blade by Landon & Co, 7 New Burlington St., London, etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, ten battle honours to Pegu, regimental number within a bugle horn, and owner's motto, crest and initials, regulation brass gothic hilt incorporating Royal cypher, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in steel scabbard, two suspension rings.

  • Smeeton Walker was Ensign by purchase 27 July 1855, Lieut by purchase 23 March 1858, Captain by purchase 18 December 1863. Died 9 August 1867, presumably soon after landing back from India. He would have served in Malta 1855/56, India 1858-1867 including the Umbeyla Expedition 1863. Family Motto, Passant Cresant En Honeur, and crest a dove holding a twig of laurel.
