88cm blade etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, regimental badge and motto, and five battle honours to Tel-El-Kabir, regulation steel three bar hilt of 1821 pattern light cavalry type, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its leather covered steel scabbard, two suspension rings.

  • It would appear the cutlers name of Wilkinson, the serial number and proof slug have all been removed to possibly hide the identity of the owner. The leather covering on the scabbard probably denotes use during the Boer War.
