A Regimental 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sword of the 21st Hussars
88cm blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, numbered 23282 for 1879, etched with foliate scrolls, crowned VR cypher, owner's initials and 21 H within a panel, regulation steel three bar hilt, wire bound fish skin covered grip (worn), in its steel scabbard with two suspension rings.

  • The sword of Hugh M Beavan 21st Hussars. Lieut 11 October 1879 2nd Lieut 13Aug 1879, after 1881 this rank is converted to Lieutenant. He is still present as such in June 1882, but has left the Army by Jan 1883.
