A Georgian Silver-Gilt Mounted Presentation Sabre
Sharply curved 76 cm unfullered blade etched, blue and gilt with scrolling foliage, an Angel, stands of arms, the figures of Britannia and a standing infantryman, the Royal Arms, crowned GR cypher and 'Warranted' at the forte, the stirrup hilt crossguard deeply cast in the form of acanthus leaves, the knuckle-guard with a coiled serpent, the back-piece embossed with oak leaves and acorns, wire bound ivory grip, in its silver-gilt mounted leather scabbard, the locket engraved with a presentation inscription, and signed on the reverse Woolley. Deakin, Dutton & Johnson, Birmn, and with a frog stud, two suspension rings, hallmarked Birmingham 1804 and maker's mark W.D.D.I.
