A Scottish Victorian Artillery Officer's Presentation Sword
81.5cm blade by Hobson & Son, Artillery Place, Woolwich, etched almost to the tip with scrolling foliage, winged thunderbolts, crowned VR cypher, a cannon, and presentation inscription, white metal three bar hilt cast with acorns and oak leaves overall, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its white metal scabbard engraved with foliage and scrolls, two suspension rings, complete with knot of silver bullion cord and acorn.

    John Emslie 4th Ayrshire Artillery Vols. (Ardrossan) 2nd Lieut 3 March 1860 is promoted straight to Captain 27 April 1867. I still as such by April 1873 but has gone by Nov 1874.
