A Victorian Artillery Officer's Presentation Sword
86cm blade by Pillin, Maker, London, etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, recipient's crest and presentation inscription, white metal hilt boldly cast pierced and chased with scrolling foliage and a union spray, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its white metal scabbard, the mounts deeply cast with scrolling foliage upon a hammered ground, two suspension rings.

  • The inscription reads: Presented to Captain and Adjutant Keating by his brother officer's and a few friends, on is resigning the adjutancy of the 3rd Brigade, L.A.V., [Lanarkshire Artillery Volunteers] Novbr 19th 1862.
